MISSION & GOALS

MISSION STATEMENT

Holy Family School is committed to the four-fold purpose of Catholic education: message, community, service, and worship. By experiencing the living person of Jesus through the values of the gospel, our students are provided with knowledge enabling them to choose to live their lives following in His footsteps. Respect for all God’s children is developed in an atmosphere of love and cooperation. This respect allows us to reach out to our families, school, parish, community, and those beyond, by sharing our faith-filled Christian witness. With compassion and concern, our students share time, talent, and good fortune in service to others. We strive to deepen the faith of our students through the celebration of the sacraments, liturgy, and scripture study. We believe we are enlightened in our ministry by the Holy Spirit, the source of wisdom and truth.

The mission of Holy Family School is to provide the opportunities for students to pursue Catholic ideals and values through academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular experiences. The primary goal, which is to encourage each student to achieve his or her optimum potential, is enabled by providing an atmosphere of learning, respect, service and commitment in a faith-filled environment. Holy Family School works to develop the "whole" person and addresses the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social aspects of each student.

Each student at Holy Family School is treated as a unique individual. As an individual, he/she is a member of a family, a school family, and a parish family. In the parish family, the school is viewed as an integral member. Parishioners see school support as a means of intensifying faith commitment. Working as a healthy family unity, the principal, teachers, staff, parents and parishioners create a community where Catholic values are taught and lived according to the teachings of one faith.

The outgrowth of these unified family efforts will flourish as each student attains successful status as a faith-filled, self-sustaining and contributing member of the community at large. Holy Family students model this community spirit in their active involvement in parish functions. For together, our parish family achieves a sense of pride as our students form and emerge as active adult parishioners.

PHILOSOPHY

We at Holy Family School believe in the dignity, the personal worth, the freedom and the responsibility unique to each child of God. The goal of our educational program is to help each child in the process of total growth and development.

We believe that students learn best when they project a good self-image through experiencing success. They should be instructed in interesting and varied subjects by peers, teachers and administrators who help provide the motivation and encouragement necessary to assure students a meaningful and successful experience.

We believe that the family is the primary teacher in the education of the child. Therefore, the parents have the responsibility to be actively involved in every aspect of the teaching process - spiritual, educational, psychological, physical, and financial. Parents should assist in the quality of education by supporting teachers and administrators in every possible way.

We believe that the Catholic school should be an institution of total faith and sound learning. We believe the teaching values and moral formation through a blend of an academic, spiritual, and service-oriented community will form responsible and responsive leaders for tomorrow. Holy Family Catholic School places a distinct emphasis on developing respect for each student's uniqueness.
