The MARTHA Room will be the "heart" of MARTHA and will open in February 2009 in what was previously "Meeting Room 2" as you enter the Cafeteria on the lower level of the Community Center. It is a community gathering, reading, talking, resource space that is part library, part computer lab for resumes, job searches, and more, part mini-classroom, and part warm gathering space. It will be staffed by parish volunteers and open as much as possible during the week for parishioner use during the day, before and after meetings and functions, and before and after Masses on the weekends. In addition, we will schedule and host workshops in topics like basic computer & Internet use, touching up your resume, job interview skills, where to find help with financial needs, etc. If you are interested in volunteering to work in the MARTHA Room or have books or resources or knowledge to share, please let us know. |
